Organic hulled millet is a versatile small grain that can be used in place of couscous or rice at mealtimes. Millet needs to be hulled before human consumption as the grain is naturally hard and indigestible. It is advised to soak with 3-4 times the amount of water to enable easier digestion and allow our bodies to receive the full benefit of all of the nutrients.
Millet has a mild, slightly sweet flavour that can complement almost any recipe. You could try toasting millet before adding any liquid to enhance the nutty texture and flavour of the grain. Millet can be frozen to increase lifespan, simply defrost before cooking.
